What is your favorite genre? Fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, history, and science.

Who are your favorite authors? Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, Agatha Christie, and Patrick F. McManus.


What are you reading now? City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, and Knitting Rules by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee.

What have you read recently? City of Bones and Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, Maze Runner by James Dasher, The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, Becoming Queen Victoria by Kate Williams, They Also Served: American Women in World War II by Olga Gruhzit-Hoyt, Enigma: Battle for the Code by Hugh Sebag-Montefiore, and A Fine and Pleasant Misery by Patrick F. McManus.

What is your favorite classic? Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, and Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.

What are your all time favorite books/series? I love the Discworld series, the Johnny Maxwell series, and the Bromeliad trilogy all by Terry Pratchett. Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series is fantastic. I really enjoy Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files, and the Pennsylvania Dutch mystery with recipes series by Tamar Myers is a lot of fun! The Thusday Next series and the Nursery Crimes series, both by Jasper Fforde, are very clever. Time and time again I come back to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll and the Wizard of Oz series by Frank L. Baum.

What are your favorite recommendations? The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy, The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde, Julie and Julia: My Life of Cooking Dangerously by Julie Powell, and Becoming Queen Victoria by Kate Williams. For the kids I suggest the Elephant and Piggy books by Mo Williams and Skippyjon Jones by Judith Schachner.
